How is the match score calculated?
We pull the substantive terms out of the job ad — skipping boilerplate like "competitive salary" or "join our team" — rank them so stated requirements outrank words the ad merely repeats, and check each one against everything on your resume: summary, skills, headings and bullets. The score is the share of those terms your resume already uses. It measures vocabulary overlap, not your chances of being hired.
Does a high score mean I'll get the interview?
No, and we deliberately don't claim it does. The score says how much of the ad's language your resume already speaks — useful because keyword filters and busy recruiters both read for those words. It says nothing about whether you can do the job, and no tool that only reads two documents could.
Why is a skill I have showing as missing?
We match terms exactly, allowing only ordinary word endings ("prototype" covers "prototyping") and a small list of known aliases like Go/Golang. That is on purpose: telling you that a JavaScript resume satisfies a Java requirement would cost you the application, so when in doubt we report the gap. If the ad's word is a synonym of yours, the fix is usually to use the ad's word.
Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
