Vibe Resume is a product of VAMSHIAIG LLP (see About), which operates this site and is the entity that collects payment for any paid feature — you may see “VAMSHIAIG LLP” rather than “Vibe Resume” at checkout or on your bank statement.
The short version: the tools run in your browser by default — your resume and the files you open are never uploaded to our servers. Two tools (About Me Generator and Case Study Template) offer an opt-in AI engine that sends only what you typed into the form (never your PDF) to Anthropic for a tailored rewrite; the default Template engine on those tools still runs entirely on your device. The only personal data we ever store is the email you choose to give us when signing in.
Your resume stays on your device
Resume content is processed locally, in your browser. When you upload a PDF or paste resume text, it is parsed and rendered on your device — it is not sent to, stored on, or seen by our servers.
Opt-in AI (About Me + Case Study)
On the Portfolio About Me Generator and the Case Study Template, you can choose between two engines on the result form:
- ⚡ Template engine (default) — runs entirely in your browser. Free, instant, nothing leaves your device. No signup required.
- ✨ AI engine — sends onlythe short text fields you typed (your role, name, skills, project title, challenge, outcome, etc.) to Anthropic's Claude API for a tailored rewrite. Your resume PDF is never involved. Requires a free signup; on a successful call we store one row in our database recording which tool was used and when (used only to enforce a per-user weekly quota). The text you sent is processed by Anthropic per their commercial terms and is not used to train their models.
Picking the ⚡ Template engine keeps the strict zero-network promise for these tools too.
Public data you look up
Tools that read a GitHub username or check a handle call the relevant public API (for example GitHub's) directly from your browser. We don't proxy those requests and we don't store the results.
What we collect
- Account email — only if you sign in to claim a handle or use the opt-in AI engine. We use Supabase to send a one-tap magic link to the email you provide and to associate any handles you reserve with your account. No password is stored.
- Reserved handles — any
viberesume.in/{handle}slug you claim is stored against your account. - AI usage records — when you successfully use the opt-in AI engine, we log one row recording your user id, which tool you used and the timestamp. This is only used to enforce the free weekly quota; the prompt and the AI's reply are not stored on our side.
- AI cost records — separately, every AI request we send on your behalf (including ones that fail) is logged with your user id, which tool it was for, which model answered, how long it took, and the number of tokens it used. We use this to understand what the service costs us and to price it. It records the size of the request, never its content — your resume text, the job description and the AI's reply are not stored here. If you delete your account, these rows are kept but your user id is removed from them.
- Anonymous usage analytics — via PostHog, we collect which pages and tools are used (and approximate, IP-derived location/device) to improve the product. It isn't tied to your resume content.
- Daily tool totals — once a night we copy a summary of the above into our own database: for each tool, on each day, how many times it was opened and how many times it produced a result. These are counts only. No identifier for you or your device is copied across, so no row in that summary can be traced back to a person — it tells us “the QR tool was used 40 times on Tuesday” and nothing more.
- Advertising measurement — our marketing pages and tools carry Google (Tag Manager / Analytics) and Reddit advertising tags, which set cookies and tell those platforms that a visit or a signup happened, so we can tell which ads are worth paying for. Two things this does not include: it is never switched on for a published
viberesume.in/{handle}page — the résumé pages our users share carry no advertising tag at all — and it never carries your résumé content. - Signup and purchase confirmations sent to Reddit — when you create an account or buy credits, we tell Reddit that it happened. Your email address and user id are sent only as an irreversible SHA-256 hash, alongside your IP address (also hashed) and browser user-agent, so Reddit can match the conversion to an ad click without us handing over the address itself. We send no résumé content, no handle and no plain-text email.
- Local preferences — your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's
localStorage; PostHog and the advertising tags above may set cookies.
What we don't do
- We don't upload, read or store your resume PDF content.
- We don't send anything to a third-party AI service unless you click the ✨ AI button. The ⚡ Template engine is the always-on default on every tool.
- We don't sell or rent your data.
- We don't put advertising or tracking tags on the résumé pages our users publish.
- We don't require an account to use the default (Template) path on any tool.
Your choices
Don't sign in if you'd rather not share an email — every tool's default path works without one. If you signed up but don't want AI rewrites, just keep using the ⚡ Template button. You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time, and ask us to delete your account and any reserved handles via the contact page.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves; the date above reflects the latest version.
